What a joy it was to be a part of this day with Rosalie of Zach and Rosalie. I met the bride at her hotel, knocked on the door, and was immediately greeted with a hug from Melissa as she said, "We are so happy you are here today". Did I mention this was the first time she had ever met me? As a frequent second shooter and assistant, I'm used to blending into the background and the bride and groom sometimes never saying more than ten words to me, but the kindness extended to me by Josh and Melissa has stuck with me.
As Melissa was putting on her dress, she told Rosalie and me about her decision to skip the big wedding. Originally from Ontario, they were in the middle of planning their wedding with all the bells and whistles (and $$$$). It was stressful and they eventually came to see that it wasn't them - they would much rather go get married on a mountain with their closest people, so that's what they did.
It was a rainy day, but the mist made for perfect photos as Josh and Melissa worshipped with their friends and family on top of a mountain in Tennessee. Chills. The night was finished off with a candlelit dinner at a local restaurant.
Thanks Rosalie for having me along for this one!
